Our Story

Where it all began…

Exclusive’s journey started in 2017 when our founder, Jean Pierre Rosas took a trip to an orphanage in Honduras, where he had the opportunity to cut children’s hair. During this trip, he was able to experience the first hand transformative power that a fresh haircut can have on someone’s life. It was this life changing moment that Jean Pierre knew that he had discovered how he wanted to continue to touch lives: open a hair studio that would impact the community and to open an orphanage & school with the studio’s revenue.

When Jean Pierre returned to the United States, he started cutting hair for the homeless community to try and satisfy what he had experienced while in Honduras. After some time he knew he had to get serious and decided to put himself through beauty school in order to pursue the dream that was beginning to form. In 2018 Exclusive opened our first location in Ithaca, NY and the movement began to gain momentum with one haircut at a time. But all of this had to be balanced with Jean Pierre being a teacher in the improvised public schools of Syracuse, NY; pouring his heart and dedication into the next generations. Jean Pierre knew that he wanted his teaching and hair studio to be integrated so he started offering free hair cuts to his students as well as mentoring them.

In 2021, Exclusive opened their second location in Armory Square, Syracuse, NY. This opportunity has made it possible to continue impacting the students of the Syracuse community. But the vision doesn’t stop there. Exclusive has the dream of going back to our roots and dedicating our services and time by opening an orphanage and school. We want to continue to touch as many people as we can as this dream is becoming a reality and we want you to be a part of our story.
